yboo is a mobile phone application that compares SIM only deals from the UK mobile market. We offer personalized recommendations by counting your mobile usage (data, calls and texts) [iOS: “by counting your mobile data usage”] and find which deals match best to your regular usage. We then take into account any out-of-bundle costs you might incur, should you go over your monthly bundle allowance.

yboo is also designed to show each user a personalised look at signal strength, by showing them which networks’ have the best coverage in the areas you live, work, and hang out.


The app is designed to sit in the background, carefully count your usage and then recommend the best tariffs without you having to do a thing. The aim of our technology is to show you what is best, cheapest and most functional across the whole of the UK mobile market.

How does this work?

yboo counts your mobile usage and uses this information to recommend the best deals on the UK market for you.

What data do you collect?

We only collect data necessary to recommend the best deals on the UK mobile market suited to your usage. We do not gather any personal or identifiable information, and all usage counted is displayed clearly to each user on their app.

The following information is gathered from each user:

– Data usage (whether mobile data or wi-fi)

– The identity of your current Mobile Network

– The manufacturer and model of your Smartphone

– Your physical location and the signal strength at that location


For Android users we also gather:

– UK and international call usage

– UK and international text usage


See below as to why this is done with Android devices only.


Do you store my Web browsing activity?

No.  We count the volume of mobile data you use whilst browsing the Web or using other Apps but do not record any further information.  We do not track which sites you’re browsing or any other online activity.

What is your Privacy policy?

You can find full details in our Terms and Conditions and our Data policy, found on the yboo app or at yboo.co.uk.


How does the app recommend deals when I have only had it few days?

For the best deals use your phone as normal for 30 days with the yboo app on your phone, so we can recommend the best deals for your usage over a standard billing month. Until you reach 30 days, we base these recommendations on your usage for the days you have had the app and extrapolate or forecast this use up to 30 days.


Why does the iOS app not show my calls and texts, like the Android app?

Apple regulations do not allow apps to track text or call usage. This is why yboo only shows iPhone user their data usage and can only recommend deals based on their data usage. Due to this limitation we only recommend deals to iPhone users with minimum 1000 texts and 1000 call minutes.


Android does allow tracking of call and text usage, enabling us to better recommend the best deals for each individual user.


Why does Android ask for permission to make and manage calls?

All devices now ask for user permission if an app is deemed to be accessing certain data or system features, to ensure the protection of user privacy.


However, the wording on Android devices could be interpreted incorrectly and does not apply literally to yboo. We will never make or manage calls on your device, only track call minutes to better recommend you deals based on your usage.

Is yboo compatible with all other Apps?

Yes.  It won’t interfere with anything else.

Why do you only compare SIM only plans?

We’re working on that. You will be able to compare handset plans shortly.

Are you tied to a Mobile Network or Virtual Network?

No.  yboo is an impartial service in the UK mobile market. We look at every plan available (from the operators we currently host) and recommend the best ones for your usage.


The app doesn’t seem to be working correctly, what should I do?

If you are having any issues with the app, head to the Contact Us page and tap the mail icon. This will send an email to us at info@yboo.co.uk containing your Device ID, allowing us to check a problem on your particular handset. Just describe the issue, add in any relevant screenshots, and hit send.


I want my data deleted, is this possible?

If you would like us to delete your data just email us at info@yboo.co.uk.  We will request your Device ID, found in the mail option on the Contact Us page, to identify your records and delete them.  This is because we do not collect your name, email address, physical address of any information about you as an individual.

Expected Use
This app is intended for use as a free service as is, created to recommend to users SIM only mobile deals best suited to their phone usage, as available, as well as advise users as to which operators offer the best network coverage in their area, within the UK.

We also offer rewards to users, as available, who Switch to a new SIM only deal through the app or Share the app through email or social media.

As a condition of use you promise not to use the Service in any way that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and by yboo limited in any capacity.

Our Service allows you to share and post certain information (content) relating to the app. Management of this content comes with responsibility of use, whereby you cannot use this content to infringe on anyone’s rights, or defame yboo and it’s Service. This includes sharing or posting content through yboo that is libelous, offensive, abusive, defamatory, and that infringes any copyright or rights of this Service or any person.

Any user who abuses this Service and/or defies the Terms as described here will be held accountable for their actions and conduct. yboo reserves the right to determine actions taken at our sole discretion.

Personal Data
yboo does not hold any personally identifiable information about any user. Any data collected is to be used to further the suitability and specificity of goods and services recommended to each user.

In the case of a user qualifying for a Reward this requires the user’s email address, to be given only at the sole discretion of the user and to be used explicitly for use as described by the Service on the email sign up web page.

Removal of the app from your device will not automatically lead to the deletion of any personal data yboo may have stored. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a modification is material we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

YBOO Limited does not guarantee or warrant that your use of the yboo Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you agree that the Service may be removed temporarily or permanently at any time, without any notice to you.

Why we collect this data

We gather and process this data to improve the Service, by calculating the best SIM only plan based on the usage of each individual user. The location information is used to calculate the best operators for each user based on service quality.


The legal basis for this is to perform a task in the public interest.


The standard data collected is anonymous. yboo does not gather any personably identifiable information without a request.


The only personally identifiable information we currently request from a user is their email address, which is required to send a voucher to users who qualify for a reward. You are not required to give this information, and you will have to option to opt out of marketing emails.


We use the Device ID of users who qualify for a reward to contact them via the app. yboo reserves the right to determine when a user qualifies for a reward.


What we do with your data

The anonymous data we collect may shared with supplier organisations, by which means as to improve the service.


Any personally identifiable data we may collect, i.e. your email address, will not be shared, sold, or rented to third parties for marketing purposes or otherwise.


Data may be disclosed to Mobile Networks to help them understand UK consumer behavior, and to model offers with the specific intent of being more competitive. This shared data will never identify any user, or contain any attributes which could be used to identify a user.


We may also disclose aggregate statistics about visitors to our website (customers and sales) in order to describe our services to prospective partners (advertisers, sponsors) and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will include no personally identifiable information.


We will share your data if we are required to do so by law.


How long we keep your data

We will retain the data detailed above for as long as it is needed for the purpose of the Service. This is currently an unspecified amount of time.

Children’s privacy protection.

Our services are not designed for, or intentionally targeted at, children 13 years of age or younger. We do not intentionally collect or maintain data about anyone under the age of 13 and will immediately delete it from our servers if we discover we have collected such data.
